Toshiba Shared Board business Android tablet has a 24-inch screen
Toshiba has freshly announced a new Android tablet called the TT301 “Shared Board”, a device sporting a 24-inch Full HD display, designed for enterprise users.
The TT301 is the latest tablet from the Japanese tech giant, and for those who own one of those 12″ Pro tablets and think that they have got themselves a giant, think again, as the TT301 comes with a massive 1080p 24-inch display, making it essentially a computer monitor with touch screen capabilities and all of its innards baked under the hood. Toshiba prefers to call the device a “business tablet” however, touting that the oversized tablet’s capabilities to double as a monitor that could aid presentations and collaborations amongst a team.
Specs wise, the monster slate is powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor, has 1.5GB of RAM, 16GB built-in storage and runs Android 4.2.1 Jellybean. We understand that the OS is slightly dated, but hopefully the company will be updating to newer versions of Android later.
Connectivity wise, it features Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1 and comes with IR remote control. It also has microUSB, HDMI and Miracast on board, meaning that users will be able to use the 1.8kg business tablet as a business PC monitor for their laptops or even desktops, if they ever require an extra or larger display, in addition to the ability to mirror a smartphone screen. The two 2W integrated speakers also means that it can survive without external audio during presentations.
The TT301 is currently only available in Japan, with pricing details yet to be announced.
