Wacom Bamboo Stylus Fineline and Creative Stylus 2 launched for Apple iPad users
Among all the new smartphones tablet and wearables on show at IFA Wacom has launched two new styli to help you get the most out of your trusty Apple iPad. The new members of the Bamboo range of styli are the Wacom Bamboo Stylus Fineline and Wacom Intuos Creative Stylus 2.
Wacom Bamboo Stylus Fineline
As you might guess from the name its unique selling point is to do with its new ‘Fineline’ tip. Wacom says that the new Fineline smart stylus contains a new ‘thin tip’ technology to make “navigating, writing, sketching and sharing on an iPad feel effortless”. It features 1024 levels of pressure sensitivity and palm rejection technology whilst providing more accuracy and fluidity. Wacom says this improves your user experience and increases the note taking and writing capabilities of the iPad.
This is an active, powered, stylus and uses Bluetooth 4 to communicate with your iPad. The battery in the “elegant and premium” designed stylus provides about 26 hours of activity and is easily rechargeable via a USB cable.
Buyers of the Wacom Bamboo Stylus Fineline will benefit from a suite of apps including Wacom’s own Bamboo Paper app, Noteshelf, Notes Plus, INKredible and GoodReader. The Bamboo Paper app will recognise the stylus capabilities in this new device and offer free access to the ‘Fineline Pack’ which includes “an additional pencil and the Writer or Maker type notebooks,” great for your notes, ideas, visuals and sketches.
The Bamboo Stylus Fineline is available today in Europe at various retailers for £49.99 or equivalent. You can read more about this new stylus at the official Wacom product page.
Wacom Creative Stylus 2
This is the premium creative stylus offering for iPad users from Wacom. Like the Fineline it includes a more precise realistic pen tip. This lets users make the most of the pressure sensitivity on offer for sketching in a very realistic way. Your ideas will show through better with more precise control and response.
The Wacom Creative Stylus 2 offers users a thinner tip, palm rejection and 2048 levels of pressure sensitivity. This premium iPad stylus is built with a soft touch grip and designed to avoid hand fatigue.
Like its cheaper brother this stylus communicates with your iPad via Bluetooth 4 and offers about 26 hours of active use between (USB) charges. It weighs 19g and is 141mm long and 10mm in diameter.
The Creative Stylus 2 is available today in Europe at various retailers for £64.99 or equivalent. You can read more about this new stylus at its official Wacom product page.
