Logitech K480 Bluetooth keyboard can connect to three different devices at once

Logitech has announced a new Bluetooth Multi-Device Keyboard called K480. Not only can it work as a wireless computer keyboard, it is also capable of connecting to your smartphone and tablet at the same time. That’s pretty handy for the average multi-device juggling Tech Assimilate reader.

This interesting new input accessory is definitely worth taking a look at for those who are in the market for a new keyboard. Billed as the “first desk keyboard designed for use with up to three devices, regardless of computing platform”, it stands out from the Bluetooth keyboards currently available, which have little differentiation from one another.

Easy Switch Dial

The K480 can sync up to three devices at a time, and its Easy-Switch dial in the top left corner will allow the user to switch quickly and easily between their tablet, smartphone and computer. You can see this in action in the promo video attached at the end of the article.

The device also comes with an integrated slot which can hold your smartphone and tablet at the perfect angle for you to read while you type. Do please note that the slots are designed for phones and tablets up to 10.5mm (0.4″) thick and 258mm (10″) wide. So don’t expect to dock a 10″ tablet and a 6″ phone at the same time!

“Typing needs have evolved and consumers are computing and texting across multiple screens, often using two or three different operating systems,” said Charlotte Johs, global VP of computer peripherals, Logitech.

“The Logitech Bluetooth Multi-Device Keyboard K480 makes it simple for people to work, create or communicate quickly and comfortably, no matter what computing device or platform they are using.”

Indeed, the K480 can connect to devices on different platforms, whether they are Windows, Mac, Chrome OS computers or Android, iOS and Windows tablets and smartphones. It will come pre-loaded with 2 AAA batteries and the keyboard measures 20x299x195mm, weighing in at 820g.

The keyboard comes in two colour variants, white or black, and is said to be available in Europe and the US later this month, priced at $49.99. However, according to Currys, the K480 is already available and in stock in the UK at £49.99. Are you a multitasker? Then perhaps this will be the perfect keyboard for you!
