Sony readies perfume bottle-shaped selfie camera
The selfie trend does not seems to be dying down. We all know that East Asian girls are probably the most obsessed with taking pictures of themselves, and Sony is definitely seizing this opportunity and as it reportedly works on a selfie focused, a perfume bottle-styled Cyber shot camera, reports Slash Gear.
The company has recently released the Sony Xperia C3, a selfie-centric handset with a 5MP front-facing camera. But taking the trend even further, Chinese sites Weibo and Digi-wo have leaked images showing off an unusual design in a new Cyber shot device. As you can see from the photo below, the device will have a rotating camera encased in the transparent cap and looks like a smartphone at first glance.
Sony’s Chinese Cyber-shot website also hints at the upcoming device, and teases that an announcement should be coming on the 22nd August. Specs of the device were also leaked earlier this week from Digicame Info, listing features including a 19.2MP shooter with a 1/2.3 inch Exmor RS sensor, dual-conversion Sony G lens, 3-inch display, LED flash, Wi-Fi, NFC, a microSD card slot and app compatibility.
Sony is perhaps capitalising on the trend of Chinese girls putting Chanel perfume bottle cases onto their phones in China, therefore, the camera will probably be launched in limited markets, most likely just in East Asia.
