Motorola teases two new smartphones and more in invite to September Chicago event
Motorola is teasing us with its latest event invite, which points to new smartphones and its highly anticipated Moto 360 smartwatch being launched at the “Moto Launch Experience” event happening on 4th September in Chicago, the day after Samsung’s event at IFA 2014 in Berlin.
The company’s teaser site for the event shows a paper fortune teller, which I’m sure everyone’s played with as a child, and the four sides up features pictures of a watch, the Moto X and Moto G smartphones, and possibly a Bluetooth headset. Inside, the origami opens to reveal 4 phrases: Choose to discover, Choose to have fun, Choose a new experience and Choose to join us.
Indicating clearly what would be up for discussion at the event, the Moto 360 will probably be the star of the show. Since first revealed alongside Android Wear and previewed at Google I/O earlier in June, the world has been waiting anxiously for Motorola to release the smartwatch, which was previously said to be due in July.
The successor to the Moto X and Moto G would also be interesting devices to discover, as these would be the first devices to hit the market since plans for Lenovo to acquire Motorola Mobility from Google emerged. According to TechCrunch, the Moto X+1 was previously rumoured for a 25th September release date, with the new variant of the Moto G, Moto G2, set to ship on 10th September, which would coincide with it being unveiled at the event. Both upgraded versions of the phones which launched in 2013 should keep its customisable backs, with the same competitive pricing compared to phones with similar specs.
