LG seems to have accidentally revealed an up and coming stylus equipped G3 smartphone variant cleverly named the ‘LG G3 Stylus’. Previously we have seen other smartphone makers attempt to unseat the Samsung Galaxy Note as the phablet of choice but most of them think that simply making the screen bigger is enough. No, if we have a note like device we want a stylus! At last LG has taken the hint and looks set to reveal a proper competitor to the Samsung Galaxy Note range.

While we don’t have any specs for the LG G3 Stylus – after all it’s just an accidental reveal, we can probably rest assured as it has the G3 branding it will be up to scratch in horsepower and display technology. It should rival or equal the current LG flagship’s specs. Bear in mind that while the LG G3 Beat is a lower specced model, stylus ‘Note’ models usually have the beefiest specs available. However Engadget worryingly points out that a previous leak of a similar device revealed a rather low res screen on a similar LG stylus equipped device.

There’s a lot of questions to be answered about the LG G3 Stylus. Most importantly is where it will be positioned in the market – the price will dictate the specs. LG might not pit it against the flagship upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 4 but try and get some medium/budget level sales action. Another worry about the LG is what if any special software facilities will make use of the stylus. Samsung has been developing its pen tools and other utilities for years now so it needs to catch up…
