Nokia Lumia 930 launches with Windows Phone 8.1, 20MP PureView camera
Nokia has launched the successor to the well regarded Lumia 925 smartphone. The Nokia Lumia 930 is released this week and is said to encapsulate “the very best of Microsoft and Lumia”. This new smartphone has quite a few headline improvements over the Lumia 925 including a pumped up camera, four microphones capable to capturing Dolby Surround Sound, a 1080p screen and Windows Phone 8.1 installed from the get go.
So many top of the range Lumia smartphones boast excellent best-in-class cameras and the new Lumia 930 is no exception. Also gadget lovers must note that the camera is boosted almost to the capabilities of the famous Lumia 1020 without the associated bulk that smartphone carries. The Lumia 930 has a 20-megapixel PureView camera with ZEISS optics and optical image stabilisation (OIS). To help users enjoy their photos and videos to the utmost Nokia has equipped this handset with a five-inch Corning Gorilla Glass 3 display with a Full HD (1080p) OLED screen. The screen is said to be viewable in the brightest conditions outdoors and offer wide viewing angles.
Sound is also well catered for. Sound is important for your smartphone as a communications device and for the video recording and playback of media voice for SAT-NAV purposes etc. For audio-in Nokia provides four high-performance omni-directional microphones and capture and playback high-quality audio in Dolby Surround Sound.
Under the hood the Lumia 930 is also no slouch. Despite Windows Phone always feeling responsive, even on entry level handsets Nokia has equipped this smartphone with a powerful 2.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor. It could come handy with video and photo processing I suppose – Adobe recently launched Photoshop Express for Windows Phone…
